At the start of this season Robett Hollis hit me up to see if I wanted to work with him on a project called the ‘Sled to the Summit’ series. The concept was to bring snow mobiles back from the states, and document the exploration of new terrain that had never been snowboarded before in New Zealand. ( With the support of Speights Summit ) The seasons proved incredibly challenging to get a day filming when all the stars aligned, with all of us with a day free, good weather and fresh snow. We finally got out there at the start of last week and it was an amazing day. Despite solid snow and gusty wind we covered a lot of ground and bashed out an episode in a day. It was all filmed on the fly, run and gun style with no time for set up. Filmed on a Canon5DMKII and Panasonic HVX packed neatly into my FSTOP Satori bag. Great times all round. We may be dropping more Sled to the Summit content in the future.
